Chris Brown accused of threatening woman, arrested and released on $250,000 Bail
Authorities launched a criminal assault investigation after a woman said Chris Brown threatened her with a firearm on Aug.30, according to TMZ.
The woman who filed the report with law enforcement officials claims that she was in an argument with Brown before he pulled the gun.
However, Brown’s camp had a different take on the incident. They say that Breezy had friends visiting his house, including Ray J, who was getting a tattoo at the time. However, things took a turn when two women arrived without an invitation.
The uninvited guests were asked to leave. One of those women is reportedly the one who filed the report. The camp also claims Breezy was asleep while all of this took place.
Ray J was reportedly searched and handcuffed after leaving Brown’s home. His BMW was also seized as potential evidence while he Ubered home.
After a lengthy standoff with the Los Angeles Police Department, Chris Brown was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers responded to the scene around 3 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 30) following a 911 call from the woman requesting help. Curran filed a police report and cops obtained a search warrant.
Brown was released from jail that night after posting $250,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County jail records. “Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes,” Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, tweeted. “Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy.”
