Chrisette Michele to perform at Trump’s Inauguration
Chrisette Michele is going to perform at Trump’s Inauguration despite controversy surrounding the President-elect.
According to the New York Daily News, the R&B songstress agreed to the performance a week ago, but kept it under wraps due to expected criticism.
Michele has already received criticism regarding her decision to perform. On Instagram, one fan wrote: “You’d be the same one to tell where the slaves was hiding for a couple of coins! Money over principles huh, you’re a fool!” Another added: “Welp guess you don’t care about ur career officially will not support any project ur are affiliated with!!”
Broadway singer Jennifer Holliday recently backed out of performing at the inauguration due to what she called a “lapse of judgement.” Later, it was revealed that she also received death threats after announcing the gig.
