Muslim women who want to have their hijab on, while playing basketball can now do so, as the international basketball federation has finally given them the go-ahead. The federation says they want to follow the ongoing trend to balance
religious beliefs with sporting competitions. The board however says the new ruling only takes effect on the first of October this year.

The latest FIFA ranking has been released. Nigeria did not make a move as they remained at number 40, obviously
due to little activity last month. Let’s tell you which teams are at the top ten. We have, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, France, Colombia, Chile, Germany, Argentina and Brazil at number one. At the African stage, the super eagles are at number 5. Let’s give you the top ten African teams. We have Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia, Congo DR, Nigeria of course at 5. Then there’s Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Senegal and Egypt at number one.

The South Africa Football Association says SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter is now the country’s new football coach after an agreement was reached for him to remain with the south african club but still handle national team assignments.
His first assignment will be the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo come the month of June.

Fifa has received an appeal by Argentina forward Lionel Messi, protesting his four-match international ban for insulting a match official. Messi did not travel to FIFA headquarters in Zurich for the hearing but Spanish media said he would make his defense in a video conference call. Messi has already missed one World Cup qualifier, to Bolivia, and will also sit games against, Uruguay , Venezuela and Peru if the ban remains in place.
