Iran accuses Kim Kardashian of Being A Secret Agent For Instagram
Officials with the Organized Cyberspace Crimes Unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps have reportedly accused reality star ,Kim Kardashian West of embarking on a secret scheme to corrupt Middle Eastern women with her sexy selfies posted on Instagram.
“Ms. Kim Kardashian is a popular fashion model so Instagram’s CEO tells her, ‘Make this native,’ ” spokesman Mostafa Alizadeh said according to IranWire, a news site run by Iranian journalists.
“There is no doubt that financial support is involved as well. We are taking this very seriously.”
The scheme allegedly is that Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom wants to make modeling native to Iran and the selfie-loving celeb wants to help.
“They are targeting young people and women,” Alizadeh said.
“Foreigners are behind it because it is targeting families. These schemes originate from around the Persian Gulf and England. When you draw the operational graph, you will see that it is a foreign operation.”
So far, Iran has warned 170 models as a “preventive” measure, though more than two dozen are facing prosecution.
“Our aim is to teach them a lesson and make them wake up. In many cases, a warning was sufficient and we did not take legal action. Of the 29 individuals, eight have been arrested and their cases are being processed,” said Javad Babaee, supervisor of the Prosecutor’s Office for Media Crimes.
