John Legend To Replace Jennifer Hudson On ‘The Voice’
John Legend can often be found sitting by a piano, but starting this Fall he’ll be taking a seat on a spinning red chair.
For, it’s been announced that the recently crowned EGOT winner has joined The Voice as its newest anchoring coach.
The news was broken via the NBC show’s Instagram page:
Renown for its revolving approach to its judging panel, Legend’s inaugural season on the show (set to premiere next February) will see him take up the seat currently occupied by Jennifer Hudson.
In doing so, he’ll join returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton, along with host Carson Daly.
Speaking on his appointment, the 39-year-old said in a statement:
“I’m thrilled to join the coaches of ‘The Voice’ I’ve been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I’m so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift. I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL.”
