Justin Bieber, DJ Skrillex Deny Stealing hook for ‘Sorry’
DJ Skrillex has refuted recent accusations about the hit song ‘sorry’ he produced for justin bieber. He denied the stealing of the vocal hook in their song by sharing a short video showing how he created the song.
In the 30-second clip, Skrillex plays an original a cappella demo of “Sorry” performed by co-writer Julia Michaels
“SORRY but we didn’t steal this,” he captioned the video.
Bieber co-defended a few hours later by replying to Skrillex’s video with the hashtag “#wedontsteal.”
The tweets were in response to a lawsuit filed by indie artist White Hinterland. Hinterland claims Bieber and Skrillex ripped off the vocal riff from her 2014 song, “Ring The Bell.”
In a lengthy Facebook post Thursday, the artist said she reached out to Bieber’s camp to stop sampling her song multiple times to no avail.
