Katy Perry is the official pop lord of Twitter.
The Grammy-nominated singer is the first user to hit the 90 million follower mark on the social site, making her the most-followed person in the world.
Perry now wields top place over Justin Bieber (83.8 million) and Taylor Swift (79 million). The pop star has long been one of the most-followed people on Twitter, with Bieber and his band of faithful Beliebers always tagging closely behind.
Musicians in general have always been among Twitter’s most popular power users, thanks to extremely attentive fandoms. Barack Obama and Ellen Degeneres are two of the few non-singers to crack the top 10 of the site’s most-followed users.
