Kendrick Lamar Set To Open 2018 Grammy Awards
Music’s Biggest Night just got more regal with the addition of King Kendrick.
Having major nominations isn’t enough for King Kendrick as he gears up for Grammy’s performance, the 7-time Grammy winner will open this year’s show, according to Billboard.
He is up for seven awards for his critically-acclaimed album DAMN., including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Best Music Video.
This will mark King Lamar’s third Grammy performance, following his 2016 medley of “The Blacker the Berry” and “Alright” and his electrifying set with Imagine Dragons in 2014.
Aside from Kendrick, others who are to perform at the awards are U2, Sam Smith, Elton John, and Miley Cyrus,Bruno Mars, Cardi B, SZA, Alessia Cara, Khalid, Logic, Lady Gaga, and Childish Gambino, among others.
Elton John, the recipient of the Merit Award, will be joined onstage by Cyrus. Two days later, John and his writing partner Bernie Taupin will be celebrated for their work at the CBS taping of “Elton John: I’m Still Standing — A Grammy Salute.”
The 60th Annual Grammy Awards is set to air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
