Kanye West Is Allegedly Touring Africa With His Sunday Service
Kanye West has always been working to expand his career beyond rapper, whether that is potentially running for President or revamping his entire image as a born again Christian.
With the release of his gospel album Jesus Is King and the ubiquity of his Sunday Services, Kanye is clearly dedicated to this spiritual rebrand. We definitely should have seen this coming when he banned premarital sex while working on his album and held a service at Joel Osteen’s church, but it still feels like a radical change for the rapper.
He’s hitting the road with this new zealotry, taking his Sunday Services global. Instead of a regular tour promoting Jesus Is King, West is planning Sunday Service events worldwide, including Europe and Africa.
According to TMZ, “his muse and sole focus in the new year is to bring the word of God to people via his Sunday Service.”
While these Sunday Services won’t be weekly due to travel time, but it will likely be a lengthy tour. While official dates haven’t been announced yet, Kanye will definitely be throwing a joint event with a Joel Osteen at Yankee Stadium in May as part of Osteen’s “Night Of Hope” tour.
Kanye had hinted about a tour along these lines back in October, when sources told TMZ that “his upcoming tour for Jesus is King will be unlike anything anyone has seen. We’re told the Sunday Service format will serve as a pillar to the production, but it’s only a part of the larger picture.”
