Trey Songz Sued By Police Officer & Photographer Over Alleged Assaults
The legal woes continue to mount for R&B star Trey Songz.
Just a month after narrowly escaping domestic violence charges for allegedly striking a female fan in the face (click here to read more on that), the ‘Bottoms Up’ beau sees his name atop headlines for a lawsuit stemming from alleged assaults that occurred after a December 2016 concert in Detroit.
As we reported here, the mugshot above was delivered in December 2016 when the Grammy-nominee was arrested after his set at the fourth annual “Big Show at the Joe” concert in Detroit was cut short. In response, Songz threw equipment off stage and reportedly hit a photographer in the process. As if that wasn’t enough, Sgt. Robert Avery – the local officer who attempted to arrest the singer after his meltdown – claims he was struck in the face, fell down, and hit the concrete all while trying to get Songz under control.
The result of the melee? Both the photographer and Avery are suing the singer for damages. Granted, Trigga did plead guilty to the two criminal charges (assaulting an officer and aggravated assault) that resulted from the incident, but now he’ll have to appear in court again to defend himself from the civil charges.
