The legal troubles for Academy Award-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. have officially gone from bad to much worse, as now a total of 14 women are accusing him of sexual misconduct.
Back in June, Cuba Gooding Jr. was officially booked on misdemeanor charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching—but since then, the allegations against him have continued to grow. What initially started as one accuser, grew to three and now the total is up to 14 women alleging that he sexually assaulted them. As @PageSix reports, Cuba was recently in Manhattan Supreme Court for his arraignment on charges that he groped a woman’s backside at a New York bar and groped another woman’s breast.
Cuba entered a formal not guilty plea, however he has even more serious issues to worry about now that additional accusers have come forward. Prosecutors stated that in addition to being indicted on four misdemeanor counts involving two women on separate occasions, they also plan to introduce evidence at the upcoming trial of 12 additional accusers, known as Molineux witnesses, because he is not yet charged in their cases.
Earlier this month, Cuba was indicted in the initial misdemeanor case as well as the second sexual misconduct incident, he is facing two counts in each of those cases. As more women have come forward with similar allegations, police said their investigation is ongoing and that Cuba has not been charged in connection with those allegations at this time.
Cuba has denied all allegations against him and his attorney, Mark Heller, has stated in official court documents that the first accuser in mentally unstable.
