GLAAD Media Awards :Mariah Carey insists carpet be cleared before taking photographs
Mariah Carey and Robert De Niro were honored Saturday night at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Waldorf Astoria but only one of them insisted on the carpet being completely cleared of any other celebrities before they posed for photographers.
Mariah Carey required that no one be on the carpet when she made her grand entrance after arriving an hour late to the event.
Once there, she briefly posed with her fiancé, Aussie businessman James Packer, and told reporters that she’s already selected her wedding dress but won’t be warbling at her own nuptials because “that’s obnoxious.”
Jennifer Lawrence was the surprise guest who introduced De Niro before he was presented with the Excellence in Media Award. His “Joy” co-star revealed that the two have drinks once a week at the Greenwich Hotel, “where I ask him advice on everything” and where “he gets drunk and pinches my cheek and says, ‘You remind me of my little Helen, who’s 4.’ ”
