Jennifer Lopez scored a career best opening with this summer’s ‘Hustlers’ – the exotic dancer/heist flick rooted in a real life story.
The star not only top-billed the movie, she co-produced it too.
But, interestingly, she’s revealed her pay packet didn’t necessarily reflect that.
Full story below…
Speaking in the Men of the Year issue of GQ Magazine, J.Lo shared:
“I do things because I love them. I didn’t get paid a whole bunch of money for Hustlers. I did it for free and produced it. I bank on myself. That’s the Jenny From the Block. I do what I want, I do what I love.”
Before jaws drop, there is a caveat.
The feature inferred that she was paid – just not “not up front.” Meaning her coin most likely came on the back-end, where (if she negotiated it) she would have profited in a big way now the STX Entertainment film, which opened with $32 million first week, is a financial success.
Still, it doesn’t take away from her comment about banking on herself. Because there were no guarantees the movie would deliver the business at the box office.
More power to her!
