Kendrick Lamar Buys $9.7 Million Manhattan Beach Mansion
Kendrick Lamar spends much of his life on the road. From 2017 to 2018, the 13-time Grammy winner spent a full year traveling the world on tour. But it seems like he’s finally ready to put down some roots, because he just purchased a modern mansion in Manhattan Beach, California, for $9.7 million.
The new home was never actually listed, and the deal was completed off market, according to reports, so there’s little information available about the property. What is clear is that the home is a contemporary gem, with four bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread out over 5,350 square feet.
A combination of light-colored stone, wood, and glass covers the exterior of the three-story structure. Though it’s not a beachfront dwelling, it boasts numerous balconies and water views from the upper portions of the house. There’s also a three-car garage and a small front yard with a patio. Luxury homebuilder Powers Development constructed the house, so the interior presumably features top-of-the-line finishes and appliances worthy of a rap star.
Though Lamar’s new home is located in a pricey and posh neighborhood, the homes on his street are tightly packed, and he has quite a few notable new neighbors. A home is being built for ice hockey star Ryan Miller next door, and Blake Griffin, Maria Sharapova, Luke Walton, and Zooey Deschanel are all residents of the area, according to reports.
Lamar has primarily rented in the past, though he has made a few real estate purchases. The musician once reportedly paid $523,400 in cash for a conventional house an hour east of Los Angeles, and he picked up a $2.65 million residence in Calabasas in 2018 for several family members to enjoy.
